I have a new digital TV capable of receiving over-the-air digital channels and sub-carriers (Ch. 4.2, etc.). I also subscribe to cable and I like watching C-Span, HSN and QVC regularly. I'd like to have "the best of both worlds" with a switchbox or a similar device capable of switching from cable to a digital antenna.

After the digital tv switch, I got a digital converter box and hooked it up to my old outdoor antennae, and all tv stations are clear except for 4 uhf channels. I was considering buying an indoor digital antenna....is there a way to use both the old outdoor antenna with an indoor antenna to improve the 4 channels that aren't clear? Or is there no way of connecting both to the TV?

My indoor digital aerial isnt picking up freeview?

I have connected my Strand set-top indoor aerial to my wharfedale digital tv. I turn the amplification on the aerial up full to boost the signal. I use the automatic search funtion, but no channels appear on the screen while it is searching. At the end it just says "No Channels found. Please check antenna connection"
What do i do?

Whats the best and I mean the best antenna for digital tv?

Okay so I wanted to know the best antenna (give me a link to purchase it if possible) for digital TV that has the best signal range. So far I have I have bought 2 different ones which was a flat RCA antenna and another one which was an outdoor antenna and they both work no better then a cheap 5 dollar antenna. Also the amplifier that came with the RCA did not help as much.

Thanks a lot for your time.

Hi there;

You can go to Amazon and check the reviews, I always find that helps me a lot.

Hope this helps,

Alex

Where can I buy a battery operated digital tv for about 0? Radio shack has them at 0; which is over my budget. It also comes with its own battery pack. I want something that will work off regular batteries I can buy.
what about the tv radios will those still work?

Digital AM radio – why not?

All the talk about the conversion to digital TV has got me to thinking. Digital AM would be terrific. AM travels better than FM, is less directional and if broadcast digitally would have even better quality. I'm no engineer but I can't see any drawbacks yet have never heard any mention of it.
AM is Amplitude Modulation. It has nothing to do with whether the signal is digital or analog. It can be encoded digitally. The same thing can be said "FM is analog" yet TV is soon to be digital and that is broadcast in a Frequency Modulated manner.
Whoops! I just answered my own question - I did some research and found this:http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/3078252/
It looks like "washd123 's" snap answer is dead wrong. To quote the article:
"Last October, the Federal Communications Commission approved digital broadcasting for U.S. radio stations using a system from a company named iBiquity. Within the next few years, AM and FM radio stations across the country will begin broadcasting a digital signal alongside their current analog signals on the same frequency."
If I could think of it, I'm not surprised that the egghead engineers in the broadcast industry thought of it years ago.

Ham radio interference and digital tv's?

With all the tv's going digital and ham radio still remaining analog, is it alot more harder to interfere with the signal of a digital cable tv? Lets say a ham radio operator is running 1500 watts on hf bands and have a next door neighbor that has a digital tv, will there be no interference at all through the tv since the ham radio signal would be analog on HF?
