the least said about this deal the better, i know it should have been a first class radio but it was not brand new on arrival. will not use this firm again ( not amazon as they were brilliant in getting my refund )

I loved this radio and made full use of its features, such as recording to SD card.etc. However it stopped working just out of warranty and we had to send it to Pure's designated repair place. It was repaired and returned for £50 but another 14 months down the line it has stopped working again. It will be a different brand for me this time. I'm very disappointed, as £200 is not cheap for a radio.

I bought this unit and quickly returned it. It wouldn't receive ANY dab channels unless I took the thing out in the garden. Ok, fair enough I thought... so I tried the FM tuner. It wouldn't even pickup radio 1 with the aerial fully extended indoors where as my desktop weather station / combined cheapo radio picks it up with the aerial fully retracted without a problem. I don't live in a poor reception area, so either I have a faulty unit which seems to be common with these or the tuner inside the thing is a piece of junk. As a radio (which it is designed to be) the thing is a useless crock. Again, thank goodness for amazons return policy. I replaced it with a £40 bush from a well known high street catalog store which works perfectly and looks very similar (minus the record function). Say no more I guess... Stay away from this one folks. Look for something else and save your precious time and money. Full marks to amazon as usual though.

EXCELLENT SOUND QUALITY, THE MRS LOVES BOPPING AROUND THE KITCHEN TO IT. REALLY HANDY WITH THE SD CARD AS SHE CAN CHOOSE WHAT MUSIC SHE WANTS TO UPLOAD. THE RADIO IS SUPERB AS IT TELLS YOU WHAT SONG AND ARTIST IS PLAYING SO NO MORE GUESSING. THOROUGHLY RECOMMENDED, WELL WORTH THE MONEY. MY ONLY CONCERN WITH THIS IS THAT WE COULD ONLY RECEIVE A SIGNAL BY THE WINDOW IN THE KITCHEN SO IT MAY BE ADVISABLE TO CHECK THAT YOU CAN RECEIVE A SIGNAL, AN OUTSIDE AERIAL MAY BE REQUIRED. DONT TRUST THE COMPUTER TO TELL IF YOU CAN GET A SIGNAL, BECAUSE IT IS NOT ALWAYS ACCURATE.

I recorded a 2 hour programme from the radio to listen to at a later date, using the SD function,. (By the way they don't give you an SD card so buy one when you order the radio). The recording set up was very easy. No problems there. However, the disappointment happened when I tried to play back my recording. If you listen for several minutes then switch off, the recording starts again at the begining when you switch back on to listen again. There is no resume function on the SD replay. Imagine that! What a let-down. You have all these 2 hour programmes recorded and each time you dip into them you have to remember where you left off and fast forward to that point. I couldn't believe that such an advanced, expensive radio would have that limitation. I only bought it so that I could record radio when I was out, and I'm not about to find where I left off each time. I will go back to my old cassette recorder. I sent the radio back for a refund. If you just want to listen and pause live radio while you answer the door, without missing anything, it is great for that!

Absoutely perfect when you're outdoors and a radio would be inconvenient, with lovely sound. Manages DAB at least as well as other DAB devices in my area. Very light so can keep in shirt pocket. Listened to Test Match Special all day at Lord's recently and had several hours use subsequently, all on a single charge. I personally prefer to use my cheepie headphones rather than provided in-ear phones. Owned it for a year and it's been trouble free. An excellent buy.

Bought this for my Brother in Law who at the time (July 2010)was spending a lot of time in hospital. He is absolutely delighted with the purchase. Easy to use, good reception (Crewe area). Only problem was difficulty in keeping the supplied pair of ear pieces secure in ear. Purchased a small set of over the head earphones - problem resolved. He does have serious physical impairment with his hands. He wiles away many an hour with the DAB radio both at home and in hospital. Very satisfied with the purchase which arrived quickly and in time. Typical - in my experience - of the service that amazon offer.

This is the second DAB radio that I have purchased. The first, which was stolen,was a Philips. There is no comparison; the Pure DAB 1500 is much better. The build is good and the sound is excellent.

I got this portable DAB radio so I could listen to the cricket without interruptions from the Shipping Forecast etc and to the F1 practise sessions on Radio 5 Live Sports Extra while out and about and it does serve for that very well. I also like to listen to music while out cycling and running and that is where is a bit of a problem as reception drops in and out but this is due more the the patchy DAB reception in this area. Battery life seems to be good and should last a good long day before recharging overnight. Operation is simple with the number of presets just about enough for the range of channels I most often listen to. It includes and FM tuner too which I will be using for Radio Silverstone when I go to race meets there. I have knocked a star off as it is relatively chunky compared to a modern MP3 player and I need to hang it from my belt with the headphone lead hanging loose to get better DAB reception which means it can get in the way and I have caught the lead and yanked the plug out of the socket more than once.

Bought this for my motorbike but doesn't appear to do the job. Tried in the car incase it was a problem on my bike but no. It is a little bulky so no good for the gym or jogging! It can't seem to hold a good signal. Maybe I am doing something wrong as it gets great reviews in What Hifi. Oh well maybe have to play with it a little more.

I have a few dab radios and when i saw this one i just had to have it.when the radio arrived and i removed it from the box i was over the moon with its looks and build quality.when first turned on it picked up all stations in my area no problem,also the led display is very impressive,and recharge function very useful.THEN WHY ONLY TWO STARS.Well if you only listen to speech stations the radio is fine,but if you like music stations it is hopeless.the sound is very bassy dull and flat,or to put it another way muffled,plus you have no tone adjustment,i am not knocking pure who make some good products,but for £120+ this radio is not worth the money.

Top marks for Superfi. Ordered at the weekend, arrived Tuesday. Unfortunately it was faulty, but quickly replaced, the faulty one picked up by courier, and the new one is excellent. Thanks to Martin in the Returns Dept. The tracking on their courier (DPD)web site was excellent - even told me the time slot (1hr) when it would be delivered, and it was bang in the middle. Super little radio, Superfi are SUPER !!!

I'm so pleased with this radio. I've used it every day now for 6 months and it's performed brilliantly. I mainly use it for listening to digital radio, and we have strong digital signal here so I don't even need to use the antenna. I can also plug my ipod into it through the aux socket at the back. The only slight drawbacks are: - The volume doesn't go very high - you'll need an extra speaker if you want loud - The alarm doesn't work unless the radio is plugged into mains power. Other than those niggles, it looks attractive, feels well made and works perfectly.

PURE EVOKE Flow DAB Internet Radio For something which accurately resembles a transistor radio of the 60's this is a belter. Clarity is great and tonal quality exceptional. GREAT GREAT GREAT just GREAT.

hey i am 14 and bought it over my mums account. it is perfect. sits on my shelf nicely. good sound quality and very easy to use. the rechargeable battery is handy but i don't use it much. if i had to pick a downside it is that it isn't stereo but thats the whole point, its meant to be portable. good mp3 connection at the back just don't be tight and get a cheap cable because the interferance will be really bad. perfect for every day use just watch the suede doesn't get too dirty. definiely reccomended worth 5 stars

I brought this radio for my sister as a Christmas present and this is what she said..."Thanks". I then asked her to review it and I got a bit more information... "I love the colour and fabric (it's suede and leather). It was very easy to set up. My favourite feature is the length of time it stays charged. I have placed it in my kitchen and I use it approximately 20 mins a day and it is still charged 2 months later. The sound is good but the volume gets distorted if put up to the max, another feature is that the volume goes back to medium when switch off and switch back on again. Overall it is a beautiful radio which would be a feature in any room.

This really is a great radio. It picks up both FM & DAB stations in a house where an older FM only radio really struggled to pull in some stations. This one gives really good reception on both bands. It has easy to use menus and you can store a mixture of FM & DAB stations on the presets. The DAB stations display their names & details about the current programme in scrolling displays on the screen. FM stations only display their name as a car radio would do. Having the Chargepak battery inside is really useful because you can be plugged into mains listening to your programme whilst the battery is charging. You can check the battery charge level through one of the screen menus. No problems experienced so far.
