Digital Radio Antennas Archives

I have a new digital TV capable of receiving over-the-air digital channels and sub-carriers (Ch. 4.2, etc.). I also subscribe to cable and I like watching C-Span, HSN and QVC regularly. I'd like to have "the best of both worlds" with a switchbox or a similar device capable of switching from cable to a digital antenna.

I want to be able to switch from over the air signals to my satellite without much of a hassle. I also have a Dolby Digital 5.1 receiver. Can I get 5.1 sound over the air with this antenna?

I get good reception of local stations and even some around 75 miles away, I do not need cable, I use an inside antenna.
I just bought a HDTV and want to know what is the best inside antenna to try to get stations that are a little distant. Also, is it best to get an amplified antenna?

What's the most power hdtv/dtv indoor antenna?

Cannot have external antennas the landlord prohibts that! Needs to be indoor. I am within 20-35 miles of all stations uhf and vhf.

Also, how can I combine two identical antennas for improved gain or will they comflict?

What channels can I catch using indoor HDTV antenna?

I just bought a new LCD HDTV. If I attach an indoor HDTV antenna to my TV, what channels will i get? Will i get channels like Disney channel, etc?
I live in New Jersey.

I have the new Zenith DTT901 digital converter box. I get all Chicago stations (about 32 of them) plus sometimes Indiana, Michigan, and Wisconsin. I think if I had a better antenna (I use wires, coat hangers, a metal shelf, other metalic items) I could consistantly pull in more far away tv stations. I can't have an outdoor antenna. Any suggestions to get farther stations without cable, and without sattelite?

I need to put some "rabbit ears" on my TV because my new apartment doesn't have an external antenna. Does it matter what I buy, or will anything pick up the digital signals when the switch happens in February. I'm waiting on my coupon to buy the DTV converter box, but I want to hook up an antenna now. What should I buy?

I thought the switch to digital would give me more channels. Instead, there are some channels that have clear reception and some that are terribly poor. Any thoughts on good indoor digital antenna brands or ways to boost my existing antennas which are; the SDV2730/27 16dB Amplified Digital Indoor TV Antenna and the Phillips Passive Digital indoor TV antenna?
