Da-Lite has decided to release a screen called the Contour Electrol that has a bit more design flair to it than the standard hexagonal or box shape cases they usually come in.

The good news is the shape of the Contour screen case is not the only thing they have added a bit of character too. The screen itself fully retracts into the case, usually the slat or weight bar that holds the screen flat when it has been extended and you are watching a movie, still hangs out the bottom of the case when the screen has been fully retracted and is stowed safely in the case.

The Da-Lite Contour Electrol has a couple of mounting options, if you want to mount it on the ceiling, cause you don’t have a solid enough wall to hand the screen from then you can do that. Or you can do what most people do, but only if your wall is sturdy enough and can handle the weight or if you can reinforce it where necessary, then you can mount it on the wall. Wall mounting is preferable for the Da-Lite Contour Electrol projection screen, not only because it is easier, but also because it is easier to adjust where you are mounting the screen on the while, while if it is going on the ceiling you often don’t have much choice as to where to attach it.

And there is of course a third mounting option, and while it is probably just a variation on a theme, in this case the wall mounting option, it is becoming more popular and is an easy way to get an integrated look for your Da-Lite Contour Electrol projector screen without all the expense and bother. Of course, we are referring to having a, usually wooden, pelmet come down over and cover the front of the screen to hide it. Although if you are looking at getting a screen that looks just as good when not in use as it does with an image projected on it, then you probably want to show it off, in which case all of this is just unnecessary.

Colors, colors, colors, another things that makes the Da Lite Contour Electrol projector screen unique and special and exciting is that it comes not only in a number of base colors, but there are also a large number of imitation wood veneers available. The three base colors that the Da-Lite Contour Electrol projector screen is available in are white, black and graphite. Now to be honest, most people just go for white as it blends in easily with white ceilings. Black of course is good if you want to make a bold statement by mounting it on white or light colored walls and ceilings. And the graphite is quite exciting as it is a very unusual color to find a screen in, and funnily enough blends in with a great many number of colors. So if you are wanting to make a unique design statement with your screen the graphite option may be the way to go.
